In the past due to the extreme stress in the transition areas, especially at high speed tracks, the unbonded ballast has been destroyed after a short time. Therefore the ballast had to be renewed in short periods to ensure operational safety.
By bonding the ballast with agribond a permanent, solid and maintenance free bedding of track will be achieved. By using a special bonding process an adaptation of modulus of elasticity of transition zones from "ballast track" to "ballastless track" or "concrete slab" is possible.
